Minecraft, The Wild Update – Campfire
Minecraft is one of the most popular video games in the world. So every year, they release a big update, and this year, we got the honor to make not just one but three trailers for The Wild Update. The creative concept behind this year’s update is to show that everything isn’t for everyone and to celebrate players’ choices.
Every player is unique!
In addition, Mojang wanted to showcase how everyone’s Minecraft experience is unique and personal. Players can, for example, explore the new scary biome the Deep Dark, where the terrifying warden lives. Or they can take it easy and hang in the mangrove, breed frogs, or why not set sail in a boat with a chest and go on an expedition?So instead of making just one trailer, we decided to make three to show all the new updates and the different paths the player can take.This update has something for everyone!

About the process, The Wild Update – Campfire
The films are fully animated in 3D. The style of the videos is a heightened version of what the actual Minecraft looks like. Slight differences such as atmospheric elements, have been added. However, we try to stay very true to the game’s look so as not to promise the player something Mojang can’t keep. All modeling and animation are done from scratch, and no material is taken directly from Minecraft.

Manuset till filmen “Minecraft The Wild – Exploration” är framtaget tillsammans med teamet på Mojang Studios. Storyboardet produceras sedan av oss på Brikk i samarbete med storyboard artisten Magnus Jonason. Storyboardet ligger sedan till grund för allt arbete som tas fram men översätts först till en 3D animatic där bilderna får liv. Här nedanför ser ni ett utdrag från storboard arbetet.
